e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Kit Medium Review

When you remember my last year post about mini haul makeup, I was brought e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Kit in Medium. As a woman with thick eyebrow, seems I do not have any trouble to get the full eyebrow when I do makeup, but No! I'm still a woman with eyebrow problems..

Actually, I often to use eyebrow pencil, because it is easy dan fast when I'm in a hurry. But, you know my eyebrow hair is dense and heavy, sometimes the are grow so annoying like catterpilar making my face like Japanese Shincan character. So I tidy up my eyebrow frequently, but still, it is not easy when I try to "draw" upon my eyebrow. The heavy eyebrow hair makes the eyebrow pencil doesn't run smoothly.. As we know eyebrows can make a huge difference to a persons face, and bushy outgrown eyebrows are a big NO thats for sure. Its not only keeping your eyebrows tidy that makes the difference, the colour does as well. When I pencil my eyebrows I notice a huge difference in my appearance, and that's why I would try some different product more than a pencil. Then I go to try an eyebrow kit with powder dan wax as my expectation for a good result.

This is my first eyebrow kit, and this drugstore product doesn't cost too much rupiah.

e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Kit comes with a black sturdy plastic case, and at a glance looks like Nars packaging.

When you open the case, there is a mirror ( though it is too small for me) and a tiny applicator brush. Of course I don't like the tiny brush that come with, because it is quite difficult to be used. And the mirror doesn't worth too.. Okay, that is acceptable for this very affordable drugstore product.

The wax texture is so creamy and easy to apply. And the other one, the powder is sooo powdery and talcky. Sometimes they falls out when I swipe. At first, I thought the color on the pan was too light for my medium skin, but obviously the color is so natural and darker than it looks.

And this is my EBOTD (eyebrow of the day :D)... pardon me for my wacky eyebrow, you can see it how long my eyebrow hair. Yes it is quite long and makes me more often to trim it off!!

Overall, this product is good, though I need a little bit longer time to apply, the result run smoothly and look professional.

Repurchase? NO! Maybe I'll go to one other famous Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Buat para pecinta makeup pasti sudah tidak asing lagi dengan istilah crease, lids, browbone, etc. Banyak tutorial yang mengajarkan teknik makeup mata dengan menggunakan istilah-istilah tersebut. Tapi tau nggak sih sebenernya dimana-mana aja letak-letak bagian mata tersebut. Mungkin dengan sedikit informasi dibawah ini bisa membantu kalian para makeup junkie mempermudah mengaplikasikan makeup di tiap-tiap bagiannya dan membuat tampilan mata yang stunning..

Brow Bone/Highlight: Pada umumnya, eyeshadow / brow product berwarna terang diaplikasikan di area ini, it may be something that has undertones of bolder colors used on the lid, or it may simply be similar to your skintone. Area ini juga turut menentukan bentuk proporsi wajah kita pada saat contouring & highlight.

Above Crease: This is the “blend out” area. Kebanyakan warna eyeshadow yang strong diaplikasikan disini untuk membentuk tingkat kedalaman mata dan efek smokey eyes. Warna strong yang diaplikasikan di area ini needs to be diffused as it moves it way upwards towards the brow. The best way to think about it is as a gradient, going from dark to light, starting on the lid moving towards the brow.

Outer Crease: Area ini dimulai dari ujung mata bagian dalam (dekat hidung) hingga ujung mata bagian luar (dekat pelipis).

Inner Lid: In many looks you will see, a lighter color is put on the inner lid. Biasanya untuk membuat tampilan mata lebih cerah dan stand out.

Middle of Lid: This is the middle third of the eyelid, and this is where a “medium” color in terms of darkness would go. Area bebas kreasi, mau pake warna apa aja terserah. Biasanya sih kalo saya menentukan dulu warna di bagian ini terlebih dahulu, sebelum menentukan padu padan warnanya di area yang lain.

Outer Lid: This is the outer third of the eyelid, and this is usually where people put the darkest lid color untuk mendapatkan efek smokey eyes yang vibrant dan outstanding.

Upper Lash Line: It is where your upper lashes (generally the longest ones, the ones that come from your eyelid) meet your eyelid. Inilah area dimana kita mengaplikasikan eyeliner dengan suka-suka. Mau model tebal atau tipis, this is the favorite area of the eye to make the stand out look.

Upper Waterline: If you looked up, you would see a tiny bit of space, much like your lower line. Meski beberapa makeup artist mewarnai bagian ini, tapi saya sih tetep ngeri ya, takut kecolok-colok matanya. Dan mewarnai area ini butuh konsentrasi karena tingkat kesulitannya tinggi :D

Lower Waterline: The lower waterline is sometimes called the lower rim, because it is essentially the bottom rim of your eye. There are dozens of people who cannot put product on their waterline due to sensitivity, and many others who struggle to find a product that does not fade or dissolve because of the waterline (and the fact that it is…watery! I always have difficulty doing the eyeliner to this part!)

Lower Lash Line: Not everyone likes to put color on the lower lash line, which is space directly below the lower waterline. Seperti saya contohnya, entah kenapa kalo area ini dikasih line, kok rasanya muka jadi aneh. Biasanya sih saya cuma memberi warna di ujung area outer, tapi tidak di area tear-duck. Beberapa orang memberi warna bold untuk tampilan smokey eyes yang vibrant.

Upper Lashes: Most makeup users will apply at least one coat of mascara in either brown or black. Kalo mau lebih stand out lagi biasanya ditambahin false eyelashes.

Lower Lashes: Make up users sometimes like to give them a quick coat of mascara after finish doing the upper lashes, so they would be look blacker and stand out a touch. Harus extra hati2 kalo mau mengaplikasikan mascara, atau akan belepotan ke daerah kantung mata :))

How To Revive Your Dry Gel Eyeliner

Have you ever in this situation? When you would use your eyeliner, you find it in a dry and cracky conditions.. Have you?

Well, I've been there. My Maybelline Lasting Gel Eyeliner ruined and dried! Then I googling to find some methods to rejuvenate those poor eyeliner. I find some tricks from several beauty blogger, then in a moment later I tried to do it.

Now I would share the tricks with you, based on my previous experience...

Actually, there are more than one methods to rejuvenate your eyeliner form. Like the common way, we used to put them in a bowl with a hot water in order to make it melt back to its own original form. It works well for the liquid eyeliner, but I think it would be different when it comes to the gel/cream eyeliner. Their thick consistency are need extra effort more than a bowl of hot water. We have to intervence the product inside, not merely the pot.

Okay, this trick really works, and you just need a little home first aid materials. Yes, you don't need to spend extra penny to make your gel eyeliner like a brand new.

You just need :

- Your poor dry gel/cream eyeliner

- Spatula ( better it comes in small size)

- Eyedrops liquid ( I used Visine). Its not recomended to use a circle lens liquid because it has different formulas.

- cotton bud / Q-tips

When you finished gather all the materials, then you go to the step, trust me it's easy....

1. Drops some eyedrops liquid into the pot (maybe 3-5 drops) depends on your gel eyeliner conditions. I dropped 4 times to mine.

2. Mix it by stirring all the whole inside. Mix until the liquid makes the dry gel eyeliner back into it's smooth form.

3. Flatten the product, tidy up the mess thing. I used my mini spatula by dabbing it. It was easier to used a spatula than a brush when I did all those thing.

4. The last, clean up the excess along upside the pot and absorb the rest of liquid inside with cotton bud.
